Since 2014
Our nation’s food system is unjust. We see it here in Chicago: neighborhoods without grocery stores, communities without easy access to fresh produce. And that’s just part of it. The fight for racial and social justice starts with meeting these most basic human needs. Gardeneers seeks to connect communities to resources that will help to create a more equitable food system.

Gardeneers is always looking for service-motivated individuals and groups to pitch in in a variety of ways. It is true that many hands make light work—and we have no shortage of work.
Volunteers can join us in garden maintenance (planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, etc.), support during programming (working with students and plants), as well as a variety of professional and administrative services (everything from filing and office organization to consulting).
If providing fresh produce to students and upending racial injustice in our city matters to you, we want your help! Anyone can learn to garden, no prior experience is required.
